I'm never gonna be on the radio.
You're never gonna hear this song on your car stereo on the drive home.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever hears this song.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever sings along.
I'm never gonna play a sold-out arena show.
If MTV still played music they'd never play my videos.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever hears this song.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever sings along.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever hears this song.
I don't care, I don't care, I don't care if nobody ever sings along.

No matter how hard I try I can't stop caring about the poor and the oppressed and the suffering you ignore.
And I'm frustrated at the lack of sympathy from religions counting down to the end of days.
I refuse, I object, to your pointless culture wars.
I'd rather take my chances on a cold and distant shore.
My bags are packed, my ticket stamped; of this I know for sure, that I don't want to live on your planet anymore.
I'm exhausted by daily reports of violence and sexism and systemic racism.
Every generation has the same complaints but we're never gonna do what it takes to change.

Make Me Sad

And you don't know...
You don't know anything.
But I remember...
I remember who you were supposed to be.
But you've forgotten about that.
And I don't know if that should make me sad.
Then your mother...
Your mother called you fat.
And I remember...
I remember what happened after that.
But you've forgotten about that.
And I don't know if that should make me sad.

I Don't Know

Are you visiting your parents' house this winter?
Will you be home for Christmas this year?
I don't celebrate, but I know your folks do.
Will I see you again this year?
I don't know.
I don't know, where' I'll be tomorrow.
I don't know.
I don't know, anything about myself.
Are you visiting Georgia today?
Or will you make her wait until the weekend to see your face, to hear your
laughter?
Will you deprive her of your smile and company?
I don't know.
I don't know, where' I'll be tomorrow.
I don't know.
I don't know, a goddamn thing about myself.
I don't know.

I can't find the energy to leave my bed today.
I can't find the strength to face the world.
Everybody judging me, everybody looking at me...
I don't know what to say or do.
But it'll be alright...
I've been paralyzed by the things I need to do.
It's easier to just avoid them.
People have hurt me for the things I've said, things I've done.
I'm afraid to let my guard down.
But it'll be alright...
This fear of failure has ruined my life.
I've been bringing myself down.
I can try to face life through positive thought.
Today will be a good day whether I like it or not.
It'll be alright...
